30 Reasons To Believe In Yourself

in Self-Fulfillment
J.D. Roth was in the middle of his worst nightmare. His interview at a Seattle radio station in 2007 was going hopelessly. Every question, he drew a blank. Every answer, mumbled and inconsistent. His fear toward interviews were not the same as his prowess behind the screen. What could he do? He had nothing to rely on, no precedent. J.D. learned an invaluable lesson, one which you should right now as well. No one is going to believe in him, if he doesn’t believe in himself.
Let me repeat: no one will believe in you until you believe in yourself. No one. There is no reason to be behind someone without confidence. It’s seems useless and a waste of time of your time. In other words, following someone who doesn’t believe in themselves is adding no value into your life, business, etc.
I tried to think of ways I could articulate a fair point to you. I found thirty that I think you’ll enjoy.
- You will be happier.
- You will start to look at the big picture.
- You have dreams.
- You’ve always wanted to.
- Everyone else wants to believe in you.
- Conquering your own inner self is priceless.
- Help yourself get out of a rut.
- Take a step toward being your best self.
- To know you are worth value.
- To let others know you are worth value.
- No one else does. Be different.
- You gain confidence.
- You gain social value.
- You will see change [BarackObama.com].
- You will believe in others.
- Have leverage over those who don’t believe in themselves.
- Easier to secure a job in tough economic times.
- Facing your fears is better than being a coward.
- Know you can never fail.
- If you don’t Johnny B. Truant [Twitter page] will claim you are a commie.
- You will become a better blogger.
- I’ve written twenty one other reasons, it must be important.
- You will make better video blogs [GaryVaynerchuk.com].
- It’s another way to take action.
- You will take larger strides.
- Learn new things.
- Learn new things about yourself.
- If you believe in yourself, others will be in themselves.
- Why not?
- The fact that you’ve read this far in the list proves you want to believe in yourself.

this list is cute and also helpful. i find i can gain confidence at certain moments i need them (e.g. an interview) but the problem for me is sustaining that confidence.
May follow up with a post just like that especially for you floreta!
wow, thank you!! i was hoping you might…
My pleasure! It’s my goal to make you happy.
Also, don’t underestimate the power of acting confident in social situations, even if deep down you have your doubts or feel a bit out of place. Sometimes you’ve gotta fake it till you make it a little bit–but once you start to make it, oh how the feeling builds, and you start to believe in yourself even more to do even bigger things.
(Or so I’m telling you as if I confidently know it–ha!)
Wendy
Wonderful list! It’s so important that we believe in ourselves and you’ve created a great list of all the reasons we should.
Wendy - I love strategy! If you have the guts to say it, you do confidently know.
Positively Present – Thank you! Indeed!
This was well timed! Thanks for a great list. I will copy some of these out onto extraordinarily nice paper for my new inspiration wall…
Bunch of commies.
Hi Dan,
I couldn’t agree more. If we don’t believe in ourselves, no one else will. Often our self confidence becomes contagious and others will follow in our foot steps. As we get better, so do others. It’s a win-win.
BTW: I have that same sign (as the photo) in my office as a reminder to always BELIEVE.
Emma I’m honored to be on your inspiration wall. Want to know where I keep mine? StumbleUpon.
Johnny We have to go to an imperialistic policy. That way George Bush can rule the world. As a dictator, he will be known for his communist policies loved by everyone.
Barbara Couldn’t have said it better myself. The photo is an excellent one I got from iStockPhoto.com, by far the greatest resource of stock photos I’ve ever seen.
i like really your number reason which i think encompasses everything.
ill be happy if i believe in myself. no one wants to be miserable isn’t it? being happy is the upward force in everyone.
Great post, Dan.
I smiled as soon as I read #1: “You will be happier.” No truer words were said…I mean written…
Thanks!
Just arrived from Barbara’s blog, the post about the silent majority. Anyway, I think the reason I like the most is number 30th: The fact that you’ve read this far in the list proves you want to believe in yourself.
We humans are built on trust and hopes, without them we are simpler than mussels
elmot You will be happy if you believe in yourself elmot. There is no doubt about that.
Laurie I try to be as straightforward as possible!
Miguel de Luis Ah, Blogging Without A Blog is an excellent site as well. I have to agree with you Miguel, number thirty is my favorite. Every long list post has to have a closing that is informative, true and straight down to the point; I think number thirty was that for me.
Hi Dan, what a powerful tool you have shared today. Thanks for the inspiration.
Wow, this is such an amazing list. I have to say, number 16 is my personal favorite and it reveals how insightful you are Dan. It’s been an honor so far.
Keep it up, it’s a great blog.
Prayerthegate Thanks for your insights, would love to see back at Command Your Time soon. Feel free to add to the discussion!
Carlos Miceli Taking the business side of things, eh? Appreciate your thoughts, it’s been my pleasure.
Excellent ideas! I think I’ll go for number 29, very powerful question. You try to ask yourself that question and soon you’ll find yourself It’s wonderful to read someone’s blog for the first time and feel enlightened. Yes, these thirty reasons maybe common and more often, just lying in front of us, but we just never realize their worth unless someone as bright as Dan Miranda do it for us.
What a twittable post indeed!
Dan – it’s amazing to me that you’re only 13. All I can say is don’t stop. By the time you reach my age, you’ll be a web celeb – I wish I would have started building my legacy back when I was a teenager. Who knows where I would be today. Cheers to you my friend – I look forward to handing you a couple losses in Fantasy this year!
Really appreciate comments like this. I think starting at such a young is such a benefit for myself, but hope others can see beyond my age. Thanks, Matt. See you in fantasy.
